icon5 reciever help

I have dishnetwork with a duel reciever 625 . I had a problem with it and dish said i needed a new reciever so they sent me a new one to replace it with. Is there anyway to transfer my presets and recordings from the old reciever to the new one. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

no problem, there is a way you can ready the eeprom of the receiver and save all the settings but it will be wayy more trouble than just adjusting those settings and preferences again in your new receiver

I just wander if I can take the hard drive out of the old reciever and put it in the new pne. then again If I did that I may have the same trouble with the new one I had with the old one. I couldn't access dish on demand where you can preview the movies and watch right then instead of waiting for a start time. Guess I have to start over from scratch .But thanks again Loco

sounds like a hard drive problem, besides that you would have to marry the hard drive to that receiver and thats another story, would end up having to erase everything anyways, good luck
